Where We Started
Founded in 2014, WEconnect began with a deeply personal mission: to support individuals navigating substance misuse recovery. Our co-founders, drawing from their own experiences with mental health and recovery, created a platform focused on accountability, structure, and rewards to reinforce progress.
We launched our beta in treatment centers, where we saw firsthand how technology could deliver real support in real time. With early success, we expanded through partnerships with government grants and Medicaid plans, reaching more communities that needed accessible behavioral health tools.
Then the pandemic changed everything. Two major shifts shaped our evolution:
- We expanded our support beyond substance use to meet rising demand for broader mental health care.
- We introduced certified peer support specialists, offering 1:1 and group sessions that added meaningful human connection to the digital experience.
Since then, we’ve grown across the mental and behavioral health spectrum, working closely with healthcare, government, and employer partners. And we’ve remained focused on one thing: delivering accessible, real-world mental health support that meets people where they are.
Where We’re Going
Today, WEconnect is focused on scaling our impact while staying true to our roots in innovation, compassion, and outcomes that matter. We’ve demonstrated product-market fit and measurable results. Now, we’re building on that foundation to serve even more individuals and communities.
Our priorities for the future:
- Expanding access through partnerships with health plans, government agencies, and employers
- Advancing our product to deliver personalized, evidence-based support
- Strengthening peer support and building deeper member connections
- Focusing on outcomes that drive long-term wellness and cost savings
- Centering everything around people, ensuring our tools are empathetic, accessible, and effective
We’re proud of how far we’ve come. And even more excited about where we’re going.
